About the Event

Each participant will be provided tools and a 6”x6” tile mold made from resin-bonded sand, which is referred to as the ‘Scratch Block.’ Using the tools provided, you will carve a design of your own creation into the mold. When your design is finished, melted aluminum will be poured into the block to set the design. After cooling, everyone will take their completed block home.

Course instructor is Tripp Jarvis, MFA, an acclaimed metal sculptor who has many years experi- ence teaching welding and plasma cutting at Liberty Arts in Durham, NC, and at other facilities. He was the featured subject in a recent documentary, “Temple of the Heart.” Learn more at www.trippjarvis.com.
