It’s not easy raising a child on the Autism Spectrum, much less two – twins - a boy and a girl. My husband and I learned the hard way that there aren’t many community resources to help young adults who are diagnosed with both Autism and mental health issues. We were losing hope in finding a program that would embrace our kids’ unique needs, nurture them, focus on their strengths and teach them skills that could open opportunities for them and build their self-confidence, give them a sense of accomplishment. But we found all of that at Josh’s Hope.
Both of my kids attended the Climbing Hope summer program in 2018 where they were socially and emotionally engaged with peers and experienced a wide variety of activities. My husband and I were amazed at the transformation they each went through and relieved to see their anxieties melt away and be replaced with enjoyment and a positive sense of self.
