Welding Studio Rules & Guidelines

​Required Safety Attire
• Appropriate clothing (long sleeves; non-synthetic recommended)
• Fire-resistant shoes or boots (no open-toed footwear)
• Protective gloves
• Welding apron
• Welding hood
Aprons and hoods are available with prior notice. Equipment must be requested in advance to ensure availability. Anyone not properly dressed will not be permitted to weld.
Materials & Supplies Policy
• Josh’s Hope Foundation (JHF) materials must be reserved in advance.
• JHF materials are charged at cost + 10% handling fee.
• Materials will not be issued without prior reservation and approval.
• Consumables (gas, basic rods, shop supplies) are included in the studio price.
Studio Expectations
• Sign up for your scheduled time block.
• Maximum of 2 participants at one time.
• Clean and reset your work area before leaving.
• Report equipment issues immediately.
*Staff will be present to monitor safety regulations and address equipment malfunction.
*If staff feels usage of space is unsafe or potentially harmful to other participants they will be asked to stop and leave.
*Participants will have to store projects off property.
Studio time is $20.00 per hour and a 50% nonrefundable depost required to hold reserved time, billed at time reservation is received.
Open Studio time is for experienced persons only. A monitor will be present and, while some help can be provided, this is not intended to be instruction time. Instruction opportunities are available on Mondays, more info by emailing info@joshshopefoundation.org.

Woodworking Studio Rules & Guidelines

​Required Safety Attire
• Closed-toe shoes (steel-toe recommended)
• Appropriate work clothing
• Safety glasses or face shield
• Hearing protection when operating power tools
• Work gloves as appropriate
Participants without proper safety gear will not be permitted to use tools.
Materials & Supplies Policy
• JHF materials must be reserved in advance.
• JHF materials are charged at cost + 10% handling fee.
• Materials will not be issued without prior reservation and approval.
• Consumables (screws, glue, sandpaper, basic shop supplies) are included in the studio price.
Studio Expectations
• Sign up for your scheduled time block.
• Maximum of 2 participants at one time.
• Use tools only as instructed.
• Return tools to their proper location.
• Clean your workspace before leaving.
• Report damaged tools or safety concerns immediately.
